Dance Theater Workshop offers one unique, spring semester, internship opportunity for an arts administration student. This internship is ideal for students with an interest in fundraising or event planning.
The 2007 graduate Development intern will have primary responsibility for the silent & live auction component of Dance Theater Workshop’s 2007 Gala Celebration. Internship duties will include:
* Solicit gifts-in-kind from Board Members, friends, and businesses
* Package auction items
* Create display for silent auction items
* Manage auction booklet production including written descriptions of auction items
* Manage auction payment collection
Other internship responsibilities may include:
* Participate in the coordination of benefits and other special cultivation events, particularly Dance Theater Workshop’s annual gala
* Support research of Campaign prospects and new corporate sponsorship endeavors
* Assist in developing support materials for Dance Theater Workshop written proposals and Individual Giving mailings
* Aid maintenance of donor records and gift processing
Strong writing, interpersonal communication skills and computer literacy are required. This position reports directly to the Director of Individual Giving. This opportunity is intended to provide a student with valuable learning experience in the day-to-day management of a mid-size multi-faceted arts organization. The intern schedule will be 10 to 20 hours a week for 4-5 months. Positions are unpaid, but depending on particular course requirements, interns may receive university credit. All interns are able to attend Dance Theater Workshop performances free of charge.
