02.21 The Tank Volunteer

The Tank is a multi-use, All Ages, non-profit black-box performance space and lounge. We curate and produce comedy, dance, film, music, and theater events. We welcome artists as partners, co-presenting their work to reduce the financial burden that frequently prevents the development of new works. Our dedication to ticket prices between $5 and $15 ensures that ticket cost is never prohibitive to a live artistic experience. We prize creativity, cooperation and inclusion over competition, exclusivity and financial gain.

Our volunteer curators and bookers depend heavily on our volunteer staff in all aspects of our operations, including programming, bar and merchandise sales, door staffing, sound & lights, etc. This is a unique opportunity to learn and develop skills in theatre & venue management and event planning--college students may apply as interns within the parameters of their specific educational institute. Whether you're building a resume for a position in the NYC bar & club scene, or working on a Masters in Non-Profit Administration, or simply love the arts and want to volunteer some of your time, we can always find a place for enthusiastic folks of all kinds. Benefits include free admission to all shows, free bar privileges, opportunities to present your own art for consideration, and new friends and contacts in the NYC arts scene.
