Development Coordinator

StoryCorps and its parent organization, Sound Portraits Productions, are looking for a full-time Development Coordinator to work in their offices in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. StoryCorps is a widely acclaimed national oral-history project that celebrates our shared humanity and collective identity. Created by the award-winning non-profit documentary company Sound Portraits Productions, StoryCorps is the largest oral-history project ever undertaken.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing administrative support to the President and Development Manager in the execution of the organization’s overall fundraising work plan, including general background research in preparation for applications and meetings, and preparation of grant and reporting materials.
* Maintaining stock of, and fulfilling requests for, printed materials—e.g., press packets—utilizing intern and volunteers as needed. Development Coordinator is also responsible for maintenance and accuracy of participant feedback and press database.
* Maintaining and updating list of individual donors in donor database; generating reports on results of specific campaigns/donors.
* Executing timely mailings of thank-you notes and Alumni welcome materials.
* Coordinating all direct mail solicitations with outside vendors and in-house VIP mailings.
* Development Coordinator will also assist with administrative and logistical aspect of Board of Directors meetings, as needed, and will aid in scheduling, execution, and follow-up surrounding any fundraising events.
Qualifications:
No formal Development experience required, but applicant must demonstrate:
* Excellent communication skills—particularly strong writing skills
* Extraordinary attention to detail
* Strong time-management skills
* Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Filmaker Pro)
* Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a fast-growing team
Salary: Low $30K
