02.13 Ars Nova seeks Artistic Intern

Ars Nova, a 99-seat non-profit theater dedicated to the development of emerging artists, seeks a bright, motivated Artistic Intern for its upcoming winter and spring season. The Artistic Intern will act as an assistant to the Producer and the Literary Director, providing administrative support, as well as evaluating submissions, scouting readings and productions, and helping to coordinate Ars Nova's play reading and workshop series.

Along with gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced producing office as we launch our winter and spring productions, you'll be our eyes and ears in the larger theatrical community – covering shows on our behalf and reporting your opinions.

The ideal candidate must have:
--Strong organizational and communication skills
--Excellent attention to detail
--Outgoing personality
--Experience reading and writing about scripts analytically
--Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
--Proficiency in Word and Excel

Candidates must be available for OUT LOUD readings, which are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month and start at 7 p.m.

Recognized as the "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and awarded the highest grade among comedy clubs in New York by Time Out New York, Ars Nova produces a variety of programming, from glam-rock shows to play readings to stand-up comedy to fully produced musicals. Some of our diverse programming includes LESLIE AND THE LYS, THE WAU WAU SISTERS, CREATION NATION, NELLIE MCKAY, FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME, JULIA SWEENEY'S LETTING GO OF GOD and SEMI-PRECIOUS WEAPONS.
