Assist Business Development department with marketing and
branding campaigns (including creating promotional materials
and brainstorming about new promotional opportunities),
promotional events (NYC TV produces yearly 5 VIP events
celebrating our new season). Assist in content acquisition,
distribution of original programming nationally and
internationally, research sponsorship and underwriting
opportunities, conduct research on the general media market
in the US, review and select on-air talent as well as work on
developing new shows.
Website Intern - Design and create new show pages for original
programs. Develop interactive pages to assist with content
acquisition. Manage updates and changes to website.
Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Flash, JavaScript, HTML. Adobe
Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.
Production Assistan - Work with producers and crew members on
field productions. Observe daily production and assist with
daily television production and operations. Learn
technologies relating to EFP (Electronic Field Production).
EFP training will include all technical aspects of the
production process; acquired skills will include shooting
footage, learning how to operate cameras, understanding video
formats, lighting, sound, framing etc.
Graphic/Print Intern - Assist Post-Production department with
creating graphics packages and printed materials such as ads,
posters, flyers, catalogs, etc. Knowledge of Adobe After
Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Editor Intern - Work closely with editors in Post Production department with
editing programs, interstitials, promos, special events
programming, etc. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro.
Tech Ops Intern
Assist Technological Operations department with the
installation and operation of cutting edge video/IT systems,
including HD cameras, recorders and monitoring equipment; and
a large fiber optic attached storage area network. Tech Ops
interns will get hands-on experience with industry standard
hardware, software, fabrication techniques and terminology.
Legal Intern
Assist Director of External affairs with legal related
matters including but limited to legal research, contract
review, maintenance of legal files and documentation,
interaction with lease time programmers, grant proposals and
general business projects.
* All NYC TV internships are unpaid. Course credit available
upon request.
