WHAT: Explore the Museum's newly renovated galleries for 19th- and Early 20th-Century European Paintings and Sculpture. The renovated galleries feature all of the Museum's most loved nineteenth-century paintings, which have been on permanent display in the past, as well as works by Bonnard, Vuillard, Soutine, Matisse, Picasso, and other early modern artists. Among the many additions are a full-room assembly of "The Wisteria Dining Room," a French art nouveau interior designed by Lucien Lévy Dhurmer shortly before World War I that is the only complete example of its kind in the United States; Henry Lerolle's enormous The Organ Rehearsal (a church interior of 1885); a group of newly accessioned nineteenth-century landscape oil sketches; and a selection of rarely exhibited paintings by an international group of artists.

WHO: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City, is one of the world's largest and most well-known art museums. The Met's permanent collection contains more than two million works of art, divided into nineteen curatorial departments.

WHAT: In French Cuisine, Robbins calls upon all the chic and romance of France with the aid of two supreme composers, Ravel and Debussy. Mother Goose resonates for children of all ages with its nostalgic score and fairytale friends. Afternoon of a Faun depicts a chance encounter between two young dancers. Subtle, sensual, and narcissistic, it reveals the very heart of human attraction. Enveloped by Debussy’s prismatic score, Antique Epigraphs’ all-female ensemble moves to the echoes of centuries past. The program concludes with In G Major, a saucy Riviera romp. At the ballet’s heart is one of the most touching and luminous pas de deux in the Robbins repertory.
Double Feature is a whirligig of a ballet. Broadway’s Susan Stroman, of the smash hits The Producers and Young Frankenstein, has created a masterful tribute to America’s silver screen era. Like its namesake, the ballet features two stories under one bill of fare. The first, “The Blue Necklace,” is a 1920’s Cinderella story complete with an abandoned daughter, matinee idol, and endless line of Louis Brooks look-a-like chorines. “Makin’ Whoopee” follows the story of Jimmie Shannon, who has only hours to find a wife or forfeit his uncle’s fortune. Complete with songs by Irving Berlin and Walter Donaldson, Double Feature is double the fun.

WHO: The New York City Ballet, one of the foremost dance companies in the world, is unique in US artistic history. Solely responsible for training its own artists and creating its own works, the New York City Ballet was the first ballet institution in the world with two permanent homes, the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.
