A classical South Asian music and dance showcase alongside a full course, banquet style Indian dinner. Performers include sitarist and PhD in ethnomusicology Amelia Maciszewski, Trinayan Odissi Dance Collective, a tabla performance from the Taalim School of Indian music, and Akshara, a fusion percussion ensemble. All proceeds will go to the Guria Foundation, a grassroots organization that works to rehabilitate trafficked women and children in Varanasi, India, through performing showcases, residential education and vocational training. The event will include a keynote address by Amelia Maciszewski, who has worked closely with the organization and will highlight the work that Guria has done in recent years.
